This class is starting to shape up as a huge class with racers from Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas making big noise about making the race.
This is the future of Road race Karting, getting them started at a young age and they are HOOKED!
If you want to enjoy a great track for drivers as well as great camping this is it!!
If you have a JR1 bring them on out the racing will be great and KART Org. puts on a great show with these little guys! I meant to say future stars!!

Thanks KART for allowing this class again!!!

Thanks to Glen for getting kids to the track. The kids will get practice time. I've arranged for national champions to mentor them. And maybe "The Man" as well.

Here are the rules:
age: 8 to 11
KT-100 with Walbro WA55B carb and manifold normal KART engine rule
SSX OR SSX-4V 4 HOLE CAN
Gas and oil
230 lbs

cadet or full size karts with CIK body work normal kart seat positions no laydown sets

The kids have a ton of fun playing together and racing together!

Gear suggestion will be between a 6.0 to a 6.2 depending on track rotation

I have a local friend & his son (~15 yrs old) with sit up karts and Honda clone engines. If I invited them to run, could they join this class (or another depending on their lap times)? I think the clone engines are a little slower than the Animals and since they are sitting up, I would expect lap times to be similar to the Jr class. If we can fit them in, let me know & I will invite them.

Fine by me, they need to pass tech. But I think you need the approval of a KART director.

We ran a 13-74 last year for clockwise. If we run counter-clockwise, do we need to take two teeth off ?

Cooper,
Cherry said 12-74!!! Which one of you are LYING??? Laughing Laughing Yes, take 2 teeth off.

Larson,
Just talked to Jim. Invite the clone. We will run them at the same time as the Animals and the Jr. 1 race. Entry fee will be the same as the Jr.s.

As for practice for the Jr.s and clone, expect 2 - 15 min. sessions each day. Guessing Sheldon will do the same as we done in the past which we had the first one 1/2 way through open practice and the final one at the end of open practice each day and of course there will be a NOVICE session on saturday morning right after the driver's meeting they can use also.

Kelly is correct on the schedule. With exception of the hauling, set-up & tear down the Reads do they weren't given a job so that they can help the kids.
They do a great job. They guide the Jr sessions & seem to be talking to a dad or kid at every moment of the weekend.

I would go with Chris gear ! They were a rocket, even though that is where I got the 12/74 from. I was on Vacation Kelly, I never once thought about karts or racing!

The Jr.'s are scheduled for a 30 minute race. However, I will verify that at the drivers' meeting. My only concern is that all the sprint track cross overs have fuel capacity.

Sheldon
They had plenty at Hallett and Topeka last year with standard sprint fuel tank. They ran the first day for 20 min. then ran Sunday for the full 30 with the Animals at Hallett. At The Nationals the ran 30 min both days.
