Infineon Karting Center Releases 2005 Schedule
Article by: - press release submitted by Infineon Karting Center
ESPN Russell Racing Schools and Sierra Race Promotions are pleased to announce our 2005 racing schedule. Once again Infineon Karting Center will feature two distinct kart racing series. Adding to these successful series they will start off with four “Winter Heat” events and end with the 4th annual Yokohama 4-Hour Enduro Thanksgiving weekend.

Yokohama Tires are expanding their support in 2005 with significant prizes for every class at both series. Yokohama continues to be a big contributor to the success of these two series. The use of the Yokohama spec tires in our Nor Cal TaG classes has proven to be very successful.

In 2005 the Yokohama and ESPN Russell Karting Championships will rotate on the SCCA Formula Russell Championship race weekends. For only $5 spectators will be able to enjoy not only karting but some great formula car races as well. These weekends will be co-promoted with ESPN Russell Racing Schools to further enhance the public awareness of karting.

First up are the Winter Heat events. These races are one-day “non points” races and will vary in both class availability and race format. The four races will feature six classes each, classes will run two of the four events for a total of twelve classes. Winter Heat races are fun races where we can all be a little creative… Classes and formats will be announced in December.

The 2005 Winter Heat dates are as follows:
January 9, January 23, February 13 and February 27

Yokohama Karting Championships combine Cadet and Junior classes with the Masters and Grand Masters 80 shifters and Masters/Grand Masters Nor Cal TaG (AKA: National Cup). A great one day series that continues to grow in popularity, if you are looking for a laid back place to race this is your series! Plus you can still get those “Honey Dos” done (or lick your wounds) come Sunday! The final class line up for this series will be announced at a later date. Oh and by the way… not only do our top racers receive trophies, but they receive great gift certificates from some of the biggest names in karting as well!

The 2005 Yokohama Karting Championships dates are as follows:
March 12, April 2, June 11, July 9, August 6, September 17, October 8

The ESPN Russell Karting Championships will feature not one but two expert categories in 2005, ICC Pro and TaG Expert. Other classes include: Nor Cal TaG Light, Nor Cal TaG Heavy, ICC Amateur, and ICC Masters and Grand Masters. This series also includes two of the top Junior classes: 80 Shifter and Jr. Sportsman. This series has paid out $200,000 in cash and prizes over the last three years… In 2004 ESPN Russell Racing Schools gave away $25,000 in prizes! Look for complete purse, prize and the final class line up in the next update… IT’S GONNA BE BIGGER THAN BIG!

The 2005 ESPN Russell Karting Championships dates are as follows:
April 16-17, May 28-29, June 18-19, July 23-24, August 20-21, September 24-25, October 22-23

2005 classes and rules will be posted at http://www.espnrussellracing.com by November 15th. Race dates are subject to change. All races are “rain or shine” unless conditions are deemed unsafe.
